Maniac Magee

The author is Jerry Spinelli. This is one of Amber and Zann's favorite books. It's a fun, quick read.

I love how he is not afraid of the blacks when everyone else is. I think it's great how he describes black and white. He isn't white and they aren't black. I feel sorry for him because all he wants is an address and a place to call home and he is having a hard time finding that. I enjoyed reading this book.

It was a quick read. Great book for a busy mom!

Mom, start a string so we can have every one suggest books that they would like to read. At the end of every month we can all vote on the next book we want to read or just rotate the picks among those who are participating. That way everyone can have a say at what book we read next.

Wendi, what did you think of the book. I know it was a quick read, but did you like it?

I thought it was a good book. I probably wouldn't read it again and again, but I did enjoy it.

I thought it was a good book. It was easy to read with a good message. When I was in college I attended a seminar that was taught by an African American--we called them Black at the time. She said that no matter how much we didn't want to be prejudice we all were and that it was better to understand that we were just by nature. So maybe the problem occurs when we are mean, unfriendly, or put others down especially when we have differences. Reading this type of book just brings to my mind the importance of being Christlike with everyone all of the time.
