The Total Money Makeover
By Dave Ramsey. He pretty much teaches what the church teaches, but he shows you how to actually apply it. We got out of debt faster than we thought thanks to this guy. I also recommend watching the churche's website series "Peace in your Hearts." Good luck on your journey of budgets and savings!

TJ and I loved this book. His ideas helped us fast track our debt so we are done and are now working on our savings. It's a good feeling to be debt free. I hightly recommend it.
I have been trying to find a library with this book available. As soon as Logan has one (6 week wait) then I'll read it!
I finally have it. Once I get it read, I will give it to mom to read.
I think this book was excellent. He didn't mince words. A lot of these principles have kept us out of debt and allowed me to stay in the home where we felt I needed to be. Through the last couple of months we have found that things money can buy are the least important. Peace of mind, good health, family, love, caring about each other--these are the important things.
This book was fabulous. Thank you Wendi and T.J. Zann and I are becoming more and more on the same page with money. We are learning to say "No" and "We can't afford that right now". It's great. He is so funny too. I enjoyed reading it and couldn't put it down.
